Xavier Is Headed To Georgia For NIT First Round Action On Tuesday

Musketeers are making their 10th NIT appearance.
CINCINNATI ---- The Xavier University Musketeers, 16-17, will visit the University of Georgia Bulldogs, 17-16, for National Invitation Tournament First Round action on Tuesday, March 19. Game time is set for 7 p.m. on ESPN.
The Musketeers are making their 10th all-time appearance in the postseason NIT. XU won its second NIT Championship with a win over Texas A&M at Madison Square Garden in 2022. XU also won the NIT title in 1958.
Xavier, which was 9-11 in the BIG EAST Conference regular season, split a pair of games in the 2024 BIG EAST Tournament at Madison Square Garden, beating No. 8 seed Butler before falling to No. 1 seed UConn.
The Musketeers are making their 35th postseason appearance in the last 41 postseasons in 2024 (2020 canceled by the pandemic), including 28 NCAA Tournament berths and seven NIT berths during that time.
