Desmond Claude scored a career-high 36 points vs the Hoyas
WASHINGTON - Desmond Claude led five Musketeers in double figures on Saturday night, scoring a career-high 36 points as the Musketeers posted a come-from-behind victory at Georgetown, 98-93, at Capital One Arena.
The Musketeers improved to 15-14 (9-9 BIG EAST), while the Hoyas dropped to 9-20 (2-16 BIG EAST).
Georgetown led by as many as 15 points (40-15) with 4:14 left in the first half and took at 12-point advantage (49-37) into the break.
Xavier battled back in the second half behind a .731 field-goal percentage (19-for-29), outscoring the Hoyas, 61-44, in the stanza. Georgetown led, 81-79, with 4:23 left in regulation before Desmond Claude scored six unanswered points - giving Xavier a four-point advantage (85-81) they would never relinquish.
Xavier went 6-for-7 from the floor and 6-for-6 from the foul line in the final four minutes of the game to pull away for the victory. The Musketeers have won five straight in the series and improve to 21-6 in the all-time series.

NOTABLES
- Desmond Claude scored a game and career-high 36 points on 13-for-20 shooting, his 10th game of the season with 20 or more points. The 36 points are the second most in a BIG EAST game this season, trailing only teammate Quincy Olivari who scored 43 points at DePaul on Feb. 3. The sophomore guard dished out a team-high four assists and grabbed four rebounds. He also went 10-for-13 from the foul line.
- Dayvion McKnight finished with 18 points on 5-for-8 shooting. He added three assists, two rebounds and two steals. The guard has scored in double figures 20 times this season.
- Quincy Olivari added 16 points and a team-high seven rebounds. The guard added two assists and two steals. He finished the game 10-for-15 from the foul line.
- Kachi Nzeh scored a career-high 13 points on 5-for-5 shooting. The freshman center added six rebounds and two steals.
- Gytis Nemeikša added 11 points on 4-for-4 shooting in 22 minutes of action off the bench. The senior forward chipped in four rebounds and one steal.
- Xavier finished the game with a .545 field-goal percentage (30-for-55), the team's third highest field-goal percentage on the year. The 98 points are the second-most points in a game his season by the Musketeers and the most points scored vs a BIG EAST opponent.
- Xavier made a season-high 34 free throws on a season-high 46 free-throw attempts. The 34 made free throws ranks tied for 15th in the NCAA this season and first in the BIG EAST.
- Both teams pulled down 32 rebounds in the game. Xavier held a 21-13 advantage in points off of turnovers and scored four more second-chance points (18-14). Xavier also scored one more fastbreak point (14-13) than the Hoyas.
