08.20.24 | Volleyball
NEW YORK – Xavier University women's volleyball was picked to finish sixth in the BIG EAST as voted on by the league's coaches ahead of the 2024 season.
The Musketeers return eight contributors from last season's squad that finished fourth in the regular season standings. Head Coach Christy Pfeffenberger enters her 10th season at the helm of the program after the 2023 team finished 11-7 in the BIG EAST for the second straight year, including Pfeffenberger's first ranked win as a head coach. Xavier took down No. 11 Creighton in front of the Musketeer home crowd on Sep. 23, 2023.
Xavier opens the 2024 campaign on August 30 against Appalachian State at the Ohio Tournament at 10:30 a.m. The Musketeers will spend the first two weeks of the season on the road before returning to Cintas Center on September 12 for their home opener against crosstown rival Cincinnati.
