CHICAGO - Xavier women's basketball dropped a 57-50 BIG EAST contest at DePaul on Wednesday night at Wintrust Arena.
The Musketeers move to 6-13 (1-7 BIG EAST), while the Blue Demons improve to 10-11 (5-3 BIG EAST).
Xavier closes its BIG EAST road trip on Saturday, Jan. 25 at Villanova. Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m. from Finneran Pavilion.

NOTABLE
- Xavier hit 53.3 percent (8-for-15) of its shot attempts in the opening quarter, taking an eight-point lead (18-10) over the Blue Demons. The Musketeers scored 11 points off of turnovers in the opening frame and limited th Blue Demons to a .273 field-goal percentage (3-for-11).
- DePaul opened the second quarter on an 11-0 run, taking a one-point lead (21-20) with 5:26 on the clock. Meri Kanerva made a layup on the ensuing possession to put the Musketeers back up by one point (22-21). Neither team scored in the final 4:54 of the first half as the Musketeers took their one-point advantage into the locker room.
- DePaul scored eight straight points to open the second half, taking a 29-22 advantage at the 6:20 mark. The Blue Demons led by as many as 11 points (40-29) with 1:04 on the clock before the Musketeers ended the frame on a 6-2 run, closing within seven points (42-36).
- DePaul led by nine points (50-41) with 4:24 left in regulation before Xavier battled back with a 9-2 run, closing within two points (52-50) with 1:13 on the clock.
- Xavier had four turnovers in the final minute as DePaul escaped with the 57-50 win. The Blue Demons went 5-for-6 from the foul line in the final minute to seal the victory.
- Loren Christie scored a game-high 16 points on 8-for-12 shooting. The forward added four rebounds, four assists and two blocks. She now has 25 career double-figure scoring games.
- Tae'lor Purvis added 11 points, three rebounds and a game-high six steals (also a career high in steals).
- Xavier had 10 steals, the team's second straight game with 10 or more steals. The Musketeers have posted 10 or more steals in eight games this season.
- Meri Kanerva added six points, four rebounds and a team-high six assists (has six games with five or more assists this season).
- Aizhanique Mayo chipped in nine points in 21 minutes of action off the bench.
- The Musketeers finished the game with a .364 field-goal percentage (20-for-55) and went 7-for-28 from behind the arc. Xavier was also 3-for-8 from the foul line.
- DePaul won the battle on the glass, 41-28, and scored 10 more points in the paint (32-22) than Xavier. The Blue Demons also scored four more fastbreak points (9-5) than Xavier and held an 8-4 advantage in second-chance points.
- Xavier forced 25 turnovers, converting the miscues into 25 points. The Musketeers also scored 10 more bench points (15-5) than DePaul.
- DePaul finished the game with a .377 field-goal percentage (20-for-53) and went 4-for-14 from behind the arc. The Blue Demons were also 13-for-16 from the foul line.
