Loren Christie led Xavier in scoring with 10 points
CINCINNATI - Xavier women's basketball dropped a 67-38 contest vs Marquette on Wednesday night at Cintas Center.
The Musketeers move to 6-15 (1-9 BIG EAST), while the Golden Eagles improve to 14-6 (6-3 BIG EAST).
Xavier returns to action on Sunday, Feb. 2 at St. John's. Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m. from Carnesecca Arena.

NOTABLE
- Marquette opened the game on a 9-2 run and led by 12 points (16-4) after 10 minutes of action. The Golden Eagles never relinquished their double-figure advantage and led by 21 points at the break (35-14).
- Marquette outscored Xavier, 32-24, in the second half to pull away for its third straight win.
- Loren Christie led the Musketeers in scoring with 10 points, her 26th career game in double figures. The forward added two steals, one rebound and one assist.
- Daniela López added nine points on 3-for-4 shooting from behind the arc. She added one rebound and one assist.
- Tae'lor Purvis finished with eight points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals.
- Meri Kanerva chipped in six points. Irune Orio added four rebounds.
- Xavier was limited to 40 or fewer points for the fourth time this season. The Musketeers posted a .349 field-goal percentage (15-for-43) and went 3-for-11 from behind the arc. Xavier was also 5-for-9 from the foul line.
- Marquette won the battle on the glass, 31-22, and held a 20-14 advantage in points off of turnovers. The Golden Eagles also scored 11 more second-chance points (13-2) than Xavier and held a 30-22 advantage in points in the paint.
- Xavier scored 13 more bench points (24-11) than Marquette. Both teams scored four fastbreak points.
- Marquette finished the game with a .509 field-goal percentage (28-for-55) and went 9-for-19 from behind the arc. The Golden Eagles were also 2-for-2 from the foul line.
