No. 20 Women's Soccer Takes 5-2 Win at Seton Hall

Erbach scores a pair, Flick knocks in game-winner, Dancer and Bain also add goals
SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. -Â No. 20Â Xavier women's soccer extended its win streak to 12 matches and picked up the 10th win of the season after topping Seton Hall 5-2 on Saturday afternoon at Owen T. Carroll Field. The Musketeers moved to 10-2-2 overall and 5-0-1 in BIG EAST play with the win.
Samantha Erbach scored from Regan Dancer and Peyton Kohls in the eighth minute to put the Musketeers in front, 1-0, and less than two minutes later Dancer added a goal of her own, off assists from Emma Flick and Reese Slater, to make it a 2-0 Xavier lead less than 10 minutes into the match.
Xavier had an 8-0 advantage on shots in the first half, with six of those going on-goal. Samantha Erbach led the Musketeers with five first-half shots, two going on-frame, and the Musketeers took the 2-0 lead into halftime.
In the second half, Flick scored what would be the eventual game-winner less than a minute into the period, off assists from Elin Hansson and Erbach, to give Xavier a 3-0 lead.
In the 47th minute, Seton Hall's first shot of the day found the back of the net to cut Xavier's lead to 3-1, and the Pirates connected on a penalty kick less than two minutes later to cut the Musketeers' lead to 3-2 less than five minutes into the second half.
In the 51st minute, Erbach scored her second of the game, off Kohls' second assist of the day, to push Xavier's lead back to 4-2. Natalie Bain struck less than two minutes later to extend the Musketeers' lead back out to three, setting the final score at 5-2 in favor of the Musketeers.

- Peyton Kohls had a pair of assists, giving her six for the season. Combined with five goal, she has 16 points.
- Elin Hansson picked up her fourth assist of the season. Combined with 11 goals, she has 26 points for the year.
- Reese Slater dished out her fourth assist of the year, combining with a pair of goals for eight points.
- Xavier finished with a 20-4 advantage on shots, limiting Seton Hall to just three looks on-goal.
- Maria Galley made the start in goal, playing 61 minutes. Taylor Thomas played the final 29 minutes, collecting a save.
- The Musketeers won their fourth straight and extended their unbeaten streak to 12 matches, going 10-0-2 during that stretch. Xavier has outscored opponents 47-8 during that period.
- Xavier hit the 10-win threshold for the seventh time in the last eight seasons, only missing the 10-win mark in the abbreviated 2020 season, played in spring 2021 due to COVID-19.
