Presley Pennekamp and Natalie Bain Pick Up BIG EAST Weekly Awards

Samantha Erbach also earns a spot on the Weekly Honor Roll
NEW YORK - After helping Xavier to a pair of shutout BIG EAST wins, a pair of Musketeers, Presley Pennekamp and Natalie Bain, earned honors from the league office, with Pennekamp earning Freshman of the Week, while Bain picked up Defensive Player of the Week honors. Additionally, Samantha Erbach earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
Pennekamp, a forward from Cincinnati, Ohio, picked up Freshman of the Week honors after collecting three points for the week. She scored her first collegiate goal, the game-winner, in Xavier's 2-0 victory against Providence and picked up an assist on Erbach's insurance goal against the Friars. Combined with two previous assists, she has five points for her freshman season.
Bain, a senior from Alexandria, Ky., totaled 159 minutes for the Musketeers as Xavier picked up a pair of shutout wins. She played 69 minutes in Xavier's 3-0 win over St. John's, helping the Musketeer defense hold St. John's to a season-low matching two shots, with just one look on-goal, on the way to its eighth shutout of the season. Against Providence, Bain played the full 90 minutes, helping Xavier's defense hold Providence to just two shots overall and one shot on-goal, both season lows for the Friars, as Xavier picked up its ninth clean sheet of the season.
Erbach, a forward from Lebanon, Ohio, had five points for the week on two goal and an assist for the week. In the Musketeers' 3-0 win over St. John's, she finished with three points after scoring her first game-winner of the season, and adding to her NCAA DI leading assist total, now standing at 12 for the season. In Xavier's 2-0 win at Providence, Erbach added to her BIG EAST-leading goal total, now standing at 12 goals for the season. Combined with her 12 assists for the season, Erbach has 36 points, the second most in NCAA DI and the third most points in a single season in Xavier program history.
The Musketeers return home to host Marquette on Saturday, Oct. 25, set for a 6:30 p.m. start at Corcoran Field.
