Freshman Ashley Kirkland placed ninth (214, -2)

HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. - Xavier women's golf placed fifth at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate on Sunday. The three-day tournament was played at the University of Denver Golf Club.

The Musketeers posted a 54-hole score of 872 (+8), finishing tied for fifth in a field of 15 teams. Xavier tied for fifth place with Clemson.

Vanderbilt won the tournament with a score of 840 (-24). Colorado and Texas State took home runner-up finishes with scores of 853 (-11).

Individually, Ashley Kirkland placed eighth in a field of 81 golfers. The freshman recorded her first career top-10 finish with a 54-hole score of 214 (-2).

Vanderbilt's Elizabeth Rudisill took home medalist honors with a score of 206 (-10). Ava Merrill (Vanderbilt) and Yvonne Chamness (Texas State) placed tied for second with scores of 207 (-9).

Since the start of the 2022-23 season, the Musketeers have posted 16 top-five finishes with five tournament titles and four runner-up finishes.
