Jovan Milicevic led three in double figures with 15 points

IOWA CITY, Iowa - Jovan Milicevic had 15 points to lead three Musketeers in double figures as Xavier fell, 81-62, to Iowa on Friday evening at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The Musketeers moved to 2-2 on the season.

The Musketeers return home on Tuesday, Nov. 18, hosting Old Dominion at Cintas Center. The Musketeers and Monarchs get underway at 7:00 p.m. on ESPN+.

NOTABLES

Xavier and Iowa traded leads for the first seven minutes of the game. The Hawkeyes took a two-possession lead, 27-22, with seven minutes remaining in the first half, then closed the period on an 11-0 run to take a 45-29 lead into halftime.t h
Jovan Milicevic had 10 first-half points to lead the Musketeers, connecting on a pair of threes.
The Musketeers shot 40 percent in the first half, connecting on five threes.
Iowa hit the opening bucket of the second half before a Tre Carroll three-pointer started a 9-0 Xavier run, cutting the lead down to single digits, 47-38, with 17:42 to play. Iowa responded with seven straight to re-extend the lead, and led by as many as 22 before winning by 19, 81-62.
Milicevic led Xavier with a season-high 15 points, hitting a pair of threes.
Filip Borovicanin had a season-high 12 points and grabbed a team-high matching five rebounds.
Tre Carroll also finished with 12 points, hitting two threes, and five rebound.
The Hawkeyes had a 41-24 advantage on the boards overall, and a 8-7 advantage on the offensive glass, but the Musketeers outscored Iowa, 9-4, on second chance points.
Xavier finished with 12 turnovers to 14 for Iowa, but the Hawkeyes outscored Xavier, 18-8 on points off miscues.
Iowa's Bennett Stirtz led all scorers with 21 points.
