The Musketeers snapped a 13-game win streak with a 3-1 loss to Marquette.

CINCINNATI - The Xavier volleyball team dropped their regular season finale, 3-1, to Marquette on Sunday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles got out to a quick start, hitting .364 with just one error in the opening set. Emma Grace had six kills in the frame for the Musketeers, but MU took a 25-20 first set victory.

Marquette dominated defensively in the second set, holding XU to just a .062 clip behind four blocks.

Xavier bounced back in the third set, hitting .241 with four kills from Emma Grace. The Musketeers recorded six aces and three blocks in the set to take a 25-19 victory.

Marquette closed out the final set hitting .387 while holding XU to a -.042 clip en route to a 25-13 win.

Xavier snapped a 13-game winning streak and an undefeated home record of 12-0 to move to 25-3 and 14-2 in league play. Marquette improves to 17-9 with an 11-5 BIG EAST record.

The two teams will both play in the BIG EAST Tournament hosted by MU in Milwaukee this weekend. Xavier will be the No. 2 seed and Marquette will be the No. 4 seed with a potential rematch in the finals.

Emma Grace notched her 43rd career double-double with 15 kills, 14 digs and three aces, leading the team in all categories.
Charlotte Moriarty had 12 digs, seven kills and two aces.
Margo Kemp and Anna Taylor each added six kills while Kemp added two blocks.
McKinley Boehm had a team-high four blocks to go along with three kills.
Macy Hatkevich recorded 26 assists and two kills.
Kelsey Niesen registered 10 digs for her 23rd match in double figures this season.
The Musketeers were held to a .118 clip, their first match hitting under .230 since Oct. 17 against Marquette earlier this season.
Xavier ends the regular season with a program-best 14-2 record in the BIG EAST.
The Musketeers have matched their best win total since 2001 (25) which was the first year XU made the NCAA Tournament.
