Xavier Falls to Marquette in Regular Season Finale

The Musketeers snapped a 13-game win streak with a 3-1 loss to Marquette.
CINCINNATI - The Xavier volleyball team dropped their regular season finale, 3-1, to Marquette on Sunday afternoon.
The Golden Eagles got out to a quick start, hitting .364 with just one error in the opening set. Emma Grace had six kills in the frame for the Musketeers, but MU took a 25-20 first set victory.
Marquette dominated defensively in the second set, holding XU to just a .062 clip behind four blocks.
Xavier bounced back in the third set, hitting .241 with four kills from Emma Grace. The Musketeers recorded six aces and three blocks in the set to take a 25-19 victory.
Marquette closed out the final set hitting .387 while holding XU to a -.042 clip en route to a 25-13 win.
Xavier snapped a 13-game winning streak and an undefeated home record of 12-0 to move to 25-3 and 14-2 in league play. Marquette improves to 17-9 with an 11-5 BIG EAST record.
The two teams will both play in the BIG EAST Tournament hosted by MU in Milwaukee this weekend. Xavier will be the No. 2 seed and Marquette will be the No. 4 seed with a potential rematch in the finals.
