Musketeers wrap up season with 16 wins, school records in goals, assists and points
EAST LANSING - No. 22 Xavier women's soccer's 2025 season came to a close in the NCAA Championship Second Round after the Musketeers fell, 4-1, to No. 12 Colorado at Michigan State's DeMartin Soccer Complex on Thursday, Nov. 20. Xavier finished the season with a 16-4-2 record.
Xavier had a 6-1 advantage on shots in the first 15 minutes of the match, but the Buffaloes found the back of the net on their second look, scoring off a corner kick to take a 1-0 lead midway through the first half. Colorado took a 2-0 lead in the 31st minute, scoring off the rebound of a shot that went off the crossbar following a corner kick. The Musketeers led 12-10 on shots overall and 5-4 on shots on-goal in the first half, but trailed by the two-goal margin at the break.
The second half was scoreless through the first 40 minutes, with Xavier holding a 14-7 advantage on shots during that stretch. In the final five minutes, Colorado picked up another goal, taking a 3-0 lead in the final five minutes.
Xavier got on the board with just under two minutes remaining, with Emma Flick serving the ball into the box to Presley Pennekamp, who was able to tap the ball past the Colorado goalkeeper to make it a 3-1 score. The goal marked Pennekamp's fourth of her freshman season, combining with three assists to give her 11 points for the season. Flick picked up her career-high matching eighth assist of the season, combining with seven goals to bring her career-high point total to 22.
The Buffaloes added another goal with just over a minute remaining to set the final score at 4-1.
Xavier finished with a 28-18 advantage on shots overall, and a 13-7 advantage on shots on-goal. Flick and Samantha Erbach each had eight shots, with Flick putting four on-frame and Erbach putting three on-goal. Flick's eight shots were a career-high for the senior.

89' | COLORADO | Josie Master crossed to Riley MacDonald in the penalty box, MacDonald shot from just outside the six-yard box for the 4-1 lead.

- The 2025 Musketeers won the program's  second BIG EAST Championship title, and first since 2019.
- The Musketeers made their seventh appearance in the NCAA Championship (1998, 2000, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023), and matched the program's best finish, advancing to the second round for the third time in program history (2019, 2022).
- Xavier set a new program record with a 15-match unbeaten streak during the 2025 campaign, going 13-0-2 during that stretch. The Musketeers' 16 wins are tied for second most in program history.
- The Musketeer offense set a program record with 71Â goals for the season. Xavier also set program records for total points at 210, and total assists at 68.
- Samantha Erbach set a new single-season program with 16 assists while her 18 goals and 52 points rank second in program records. At the end of the regular season, Erbach led the nation in points and assists.
- Maria Galley matched the single-season record for wins this season after picking up her 16th of the season against Dayton, and finished her time as a Musketeer with a career GAA of 0.79, a new program-best mark. She alo graduates with program records for career wins (59) as well as complete shutouts for a season (12) and career (40).
- Xavier's senior class, including four-year players Natalie Bain, Regan Dancer, Emma Flick and Maria Galley, graduates with 59 wins, winning the BIG EAST Regular Season Championship in 2023 and the BIG EAST Championship title this season. During the past four seasons, the Musketeers have made three NCAA appearances, advancing in 2022 and 2025. The win over Dayton on Saturday, Nov. 15, marked the first home NCAA win in program history. Â Xavier's 4-seed in the 2023 NCAA Championship was the best seeding in program history.
