Volleyball Falls to Creighton in BIG EAST Championship

The Musketeers dropped a three-set match to No. 12 Creighton in Milwaukee.
MILWAUKEE - The Xavier volleyball team fell to No. 12 Creighton, 3-0, in the 2025 BIG EAST Volleyball Championship.
XU made its second all-time championship appearance since joining the BIG EAST in 2013.
After being picked seventh in the BIG EAST Preseason Poll, the Musketeers posted a program-record 14-2 league mark and finished runners-up in the BIG EAST Tournament.
Creighton came out swinging in the opening set, hitting a combined .462 to lead by as much as seven. The Musketeers fought off three set points, but the Bluejays closed the first set with a 25-19 win.
Anna Taylor powered Xavier through the second set, totaling six kills on a .600 clip. The Musketeers hit a match-best .275 in the second set, but Creighton took a 25-20 win.
Charlotte Moriarty tallied five kills with zero errors in the third set to power the Musketeer comeback. Both teams battled back-and-forth throughout the third as Xavier led by as much as two. XU led at 20-19, but the Bluejays closed out the match on a 6-0 run to earn their sixth straight BIG EAST Tournament Championship.
Xavier moves to 26-4 on the season while Creighton improves to 25-5. The NCAA Selection Show is slated for Sunday, Nov. 30 at 6:00 p.m.
