Boehm and Hatkevich Earn BIG EAST Weekly Awards

McKinley Boehm was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week for the fourth time and Macy Hatkevich was named Setter of the Week for the second time this season.
NEW YORK - Xavier volleyball's McKinley Boehm was named the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week for the fourth time this season and Macy Hatkevich earned BIG EAST Setter of the Week for the second time.
The duo helped lead Xavier to a 2-0 weekend at home with sweeps of Villanova and Georgetown.
Boehm led the league in hitting percentage for the second week in a row, maintaining a .556 clip. The redshirt freshman also led all conference players with 2.00 blocks per set.
She tallied nine kills and seven blocks against Villanova while hitting .500 to help hold the Wildcats to a season-low .078 clip.
The Utah native followed up with nine kills and five blocks on a career-high .615 clip against Georgetown on Saturday night.
Hatkevich led the league on 11.17 assists per set to help XU hit a combined .254 over the weekend.
The junior dished out 35 assists with eight digs, three kills, three blocks and an ace in the sweep of Villanova.
She contributed 32 assists to go along with eight digs, four kills, three blocks and an ace while leading Xavier to a season-high .375Â clip against Georgetown.
The Indiana native runs a Xavier offense that averages 13.14 kills and 12.18 assists per set in league play, the second-best marks among conference opponents.
Xavier is tied with No. 1 Nebraska for most wins in the country at 22.
The Musketeers have secured their spot in the four-team BIG EAST Tournament field. Marquette will host the tournament on Nov. 22-23 in Milwaukee.
XU travels to Providence and UConn for the final road trip of the season this weekend. The Musketeers will face the Friars on Friday at 1:00 p.m. in Providence, R.I.
