KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches has announced the 2024-25 NABC Division I All-District Teams and two Xavier Musketeers are among those honored. The All-District honors are voted on by NABC-member coaches across NCAA Division I.
Graduate student Zach Freemantle was voted to the NABC East District First Team and junior Ryan Conwell was voted to the NABC East District Second Team.
Freemantle, a 2024-25 All-BIG EAST Second Team selection, leads the team in scoring (fifth in the BIG EAST at 17.3 ppg.) and leads the team in rebounding (sixth in the BIG EAST at 7.1 rpg.). He is fifth in the BIG EAST in defensive rebounding at 5.3 drpg., fourth in field goal percentage at .526 (194-369) and 10th in free throw percentage at .761 (86-113).
Freemantle has scored 1,729 career points in 134 career games, which is 10th on Xavier's all-time scoring chart. Freemantle is ninth on Xavier's all-time rebounding list with 883 rebounds. Only three other Musketeers are in the top 10 for Xavier in career scoring and rebounding: David West, Tyrone Hill and Romain Sato.
Conwell, a 2024-25 All-BIG EAST Third Team selection, is second on the team in scoring at 16.8 ppg. (seventh in the BIG EAST). He has hit 41.8 percent (97-232) from 3-point range, which ranks third in the BIG EAST Conference and 29th in the nation. Conwell's 3.0 made 3-pointers per game ranks second in the BIG EAST and 32nd in the nation. His 97 3-pointers made, including a collegiate career-high seven 3-pointers in his collegiate career-high 38-point game vs. Marquette on March 13, rank second in the BIG EAST and 32nd in the nation. The 97 3-pointers are just nine short of the school record of 106 set last season by Quincy Olivari.
The NABC introduced a new model for its Division I district alignment this season, with schools arranged by state rather than by conference. The modernized NABC Division I district alignment features 10 geographic regions that each encompass multiple states. Every Division I school in each given state belongs to that state's corresponding district.
Xavier, 21-11, takes on Texas, 19-15, in the NCAA First Four in Dayton on Wednesday night.
