Statement From Greg Christopher on the Departure of Coach Miller
03.24.25 | Men's Basketball, Athletic Department
To the Xavier Community,
Sean played a key role in getting Musketeer basketball back on track, leading us to a Sweet 16 run and another NCAA Tournament victory this year. He guided our program through a rapidly evolving college basketball landscape and was a great partner in that process. Throughout his tenure, he had the full support of President Hanycz and our Board—support that will continue with our next head coach.
We are grateful for everything Sean has done for Xavier Basketball over the past three seasons. I want to extend my best wishes to Sean and Amy.
Basketball is an essential part of Xavier's identity, and our program remains well-positioned to compete for Big East championships and NCAA Tournament success. We are fortunate to have an incredible fan base—loyal, generous, and passionate—with a strong program foundation in place.
The search for our next head coach has already begun, and we are moving quickly to find the right leader for our program. We all understand the importance of competing in the Big East and the significance of having a top-tier coach to lead us forward.
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to the next chapter of Xavier Basketball.
