CINCINNATI --- Xavier University men's basketball head coach Richard Pitino announced today that he has received a signed athletic aid agreement from 6-5 guard Isaiah Walker, who played the last three seasons at Belmont. Walker, who played at nearby Wyoming (Ohio) High School before heading to Belmont, was the only Bruin who started all 33 games this past season.
"Isaiah Walker is a versatile wing who is terrific on both sides of the ball," said Pitino. "He is a winner and a high character guy. We know he will make an impact in the locker room and on the court."
Walker, a member of the 2024-25 MVC Most Improved Team, averaged 10.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.2 steals this past season, while logging a team-high 33.1 minutes per game. Walker, who posted 22 double-figure scoring games, helped lead Belmont to a 22-11 overall record.
Walker, who was the 2023-24 National Association of Collegiate Director of Athletics (NACDA) DI-AAA ADA Scholar Athlete of the Year and a 2023-24 NABC Honors Court selection, was a three-time CSC (College Sports Communicators) Academic All-District honoree and was named to the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete Team each of the past three seasons as well. He holds a 3.79 grade-point average in business administration.
Walker is the son of former Xavier standout Tyrice Walker, who played for the Musketeers from 1990-94 and was a part of two NCAA Tournament teams that reached the second round and an NIT Quarterfinalist.
