Nolan Earns Bronze Medal, Lailson Set School Record on Day One of BIG EAST Championships

STORRS, Conn. - Xavier wrapped up day one action at the BIG EAST Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday night. The meet is being hosted by UConn at the George J. Sherman Family-Sports Complex.

The meet was highlighted by Trevor Nolan who earned the bronze medal in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (8:47.44) and Jaiden Lailson who set the school record in the 400-meter dash (48.64).

All told, Xavier had seven runners post personal-best times and two runners record season-best times.

Saturday's track events were moved up two hours to 11 a.m. to avoid inclement weather. The awards ceremony is slated to begin at 2:15 p.m.
