Pitino has signed 11 newcomers to his first Xavier roster.
CINCINNATI --- Xavier University men's basketball head coach Richard Pitino announced today that he has received a signed athletic aid agreement from 6-2 guard Mier Panoam, who played last season at North Dakota. Panoam averaged 13.0 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 28.2 minutes per game as a sophomore, while earning Summit League Honorable Mention honors.
"We are excited to add Mier to our roster," said Pitino. "He's a combo guard with size who can get into the paint and create for others. He's also a very good rebounder for a guard. Mier is a tireless worker."
Panoam, who was North Dakota's second-leading scorer, posted double-figures in scoring in 24 of 33 games, including six games of 20 points or more. He scored a career-high 28 points, hitting 12-16 from the field, to go with seven rebounds in a January 9 win at Denver.
Panoam played in nine games at Tulane as a freshman before transferring to North Dakota.
