Hansson posts second hat trick of the season, Erbach scores a pair, O'Brien, Dancer, Parker and Sochacki each add a goal

CINCINNATI - No. 24 Xavier women's soccer celebrated Senior Day with a 9-0 win over Villanova at Corcoran Field. The Musketeers finished with the most goals in three decades after Elin Hansson posted her second hat trick of the season, Samantha Erbach scored a pair, and Brooklyn O'Brien, Regan Dancer, Sara Parker and Reese Sochacki added goals for the Musketeers. Xavier extended its unbeaten streak to nine, now standing at 7-2-2, with a 2-0-1 record in BIG EAST play.

Elin Hansson knocked in her first of the game, the eventual game-winner, off an assist from Samantha Erbach, to give Xavier the 1-0 lead in the 11th minute. Hansson added another tally in the 35th minute, off passes from Presley Pennekamp and Samantha Erbach to make it a 2-0 Musketeer lead going into halftime. Xavier had a 9-2 advantage on shots in the first half, with Samantha Erbach leading the Musketeers with four looks.

Shortly after halftime Hansson notched another goal, off an assist from Emma Flick, to post her second hat trick of the season and make it a 3-0 lead.

Samantha Erbach made it a 4-0 Xavier lead, scoring after causing a Villanova turnover. Brooklyn O'Brien scored her first goal as a Musketeer, off a corner kick from Tuva Hodne, to make it a 5-0 Xavier lead in the 69th minute.

Erbach struck again in the 74th minute, scoring off an assist from Regan Dancer to make it a 6-0 Musketeer advantage. Less than two minutes later, Alexis Morrison found Dancer in front of the goal, were the senior used a header to make it a 7-0 lead.

Sara Parker's first collegiate goal came in the 83rd minute, off assists from Tuva Hodne and Samantha Erbach, to make it an 8-0 advantage for the Musketeers. Reese Sochacki capped off the scoring in the 87th minute, scoring the ninth goal of the day, the most for the Musketeers in over 30 years, and setting the final score at 9-0.

Xavier now heads to Omaha, Neb., to face Creighton on Wednesday, Oct. 1, set for an 8:00 p.m. ET start.

She leads the BIG EAST with 11 goals on the season, and coupled with a pair of assists, has 24 points for the year. Hansson's first goal of the day was her second game-winner of the season.
Samantha Erbach matched her season-high with seven points on two goals and three assists, marking her third multi-goal game of the season. For the year, she has eight goals and a team-high nine assists, leading the Musketeers with 25 points.
Regan Dancer finished with three points after scoring her first of the season and dishing out an assist. She now has six points for the season on a goal and four assists.
Sara Parker scored her first collegiate goal in the second half. Combined with a pair of assists, she has four points.
