Peyton Kohls named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
NEW YORK - Brooklynn Miltenberger earned BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Musketeers to a 5-0 win over Creighton on Saturday. Additionally, Peyton Kohls was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
Miltenberger scored in the final 10 minutes against Creighton to help Xavier to a 5-0 victory, keeping the Musketeers unbeaten in BIG EAST play and extending their unbeaten streak to 10 matches. The goal was her first of the season and second as a Musketeer. She also picked up a pair of assists, on Regan Dancer's first goal and Reese Schacko's goal, to finish with four points, a single-game career high. Four points also marks Miltenberger's career high for a season.
Defensively, Miltenberger played 74 minutes to help limit the Bluejays to five shots overall, matching CU's season low, and just three looks on-goal as Xavier picked up its seventh shutout of the season.
Kohls scored the eventual game-winner in the 26th minute against Creighton, sending it in on a header off a corner kick. The goal was her team-high sixth of the season and her first game-winner. Kohls also picked up an assist on Regan Dancer's second goal against Creighton, her fifth of the season, to give her a team-high 17 points, matching Butler's Chloe Brecht for most in the BIG EAST.
Xavier heads out on the road for a pair of matches this week, starting with a trip to Milwaukee on Wednesday, Oct. 21 to face Marquette, set for a 7:00 p.m. ET start.
