Swimming Wraps up Opening Weekend at IU Indy Invite

INDIANAPOLIS – Xavier men's and women's swimming wrapped up the opening weekend at the IU Indy Invite, competing against the host Jags, Butler, EIU, Bellarmin, Bowling Green.. Xavier's women collected two head-to-head team wins.

Xavier is back in action at the Akron Zips Classic, set to run from Friday, Oct. 16 through Saturday, Oct. 17. Events begin at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Saturday features two sessions, at 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., at Oliver J. Ocasek Natatorium.

WOMEN'S NOTABLE

Emma Tenhundfeld, Parker Mandacina, Norah Simich and Abbey Fish set a time of 1:46.86 in the 200 medley relay
Ella Maxfield led the Musketeers in the 1000 free with a time of 10:57.42.
Mary Honkamp's time of 1:57.42 led Xavier in the 200 free.
Julia Sweetman set a time of 59.50 to lead the Musketeers in the 100 back.
Parker Mandacina's time of 1:07.01 led Xavier in the 100 breast.
Norah Simich took first in the 200 fly with a time of 2:03.97. She also led Xavier in the 100 free with a time of 53.75.
Cassidy Gifford led Xavier in the 50 free with a time of 24.89.
Caroline Wilson placed second in the 200 back with a time of 2:06.67.
Teegan Madara's time of 2:29.73 led Xavier in the 200 breast.
Julia Sweetman's time of 59.10 in the 100 fly led the Musketeers.
Emma Tenhundfeld took first in the 200 IM with a time of 2:09.43.
Abbey Fish, Maggie O'Toole, Maddy Lathrop and Norah Simich set a time of 1:39.86 in the 200 free relay to lead Xavier.
Xavier's women topped Bellarmine and Eastern Illinois, but fell to Butler, Bowling Green and IU Indy.

Truman Brun, Bennett Korner, Diego Valdes and Wil Jones set a time of 1:34.73 in the 200 medley to lead Xavier.
Connor Lathrop placed third in the 1000 free with time of 9:41.10. He also collected a second place finish in the 500 free with a time of 4:39.62.
Wil Jones set a time of 1:47.70 in the 200 free to lead the Musketeers. Jones also led Xavier in the 100 breast with a time of 1:00.31.
Sean McGinley led Xavier in the 100 back with a time of 52.02.
Zakary Guenther's time of 1:58.66 in the 200 fly led the Musketeers.
Truman Brun placed third in the 50 free with a time of 21.30.
Matt Fralic's time of 46.73 led the Musketeers in the 100 free.
Will Lathrop placed second in the 200 back with a time of 1:53.60.
Bennett Korner's time of 2:04.74 led the Musketeers in the 200 breast, placing third.
Luke Peterson led Xavier in the 100 fly with a tim eof 51.97.
Nate Finnegan's time of 1:59.61 led the Musketeers in the 200 IM.
Matt Fralic, Truman Brun, Bennett Korner and Sean McGinley placed second in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:23.69.
The Musketeers fell to EIU, Bellarmine, and IU Indy in the team standings.
