Xavier Athletics Announces Change in Leadership for Women’s Soccer Program

Dean Ward leaves to take over University of Iowa's women's soccer program
CINCINNATI – Xavier Athletics announced a change in leadership for the Xavier women's soccer program after head coach Dean Ward accepted a position to lead the women's soccer program at the University of Iowa.
Ward, who took over the program prior to the 2024 season, led the Musketeers to an overall record of 31-8-4, the most wins in a two-year period in program history. Xavier had four All-American honors, five BIG EAST postseason awards, and 15 total All-BIG EAST selections during Ward's tenure.
The 2025 Musketeers won the program's second BIG EAST Championship title, earning the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship, and advanced to the second round for the third time in program history.
Xavier set a new program record with a 15-match unbeaten streak during the 2025 campaign, going 13-0-2 during that stretch. The Musketeer offense set a new single season program record with 71 goals in 2025, also setting program records for total points at 210, and total assists at 68.
