MILWAUKEEÂ - Xavier dropped a 77-65 BIG EAST road matchup at Marquette on Wednesday night at the Al McGuire Center.
The Musketeers moved to 11-17 (4-15 BIG EAST), while the Golden Eagles improved to 17-11 (11-8 BIG EAST).
Xavier closes regular-season action on Sunday, March 1 vs Creighton. Tip-off is slated for 1 p.m. with the game being aired on ESPN+ and The Varsity Network.

- The game featured three ties and three lead changes. Xavier led for 11:28, while the Golden Eagles led for 25:02.
- The Musketeers closed within one point (55-54) on a MacKenzie Givens basket with 5:29 left in regulation. The Golden Eagles responded by outscoring Xavier, 22-11, to close the game and secure the 12-point win.
- Mariyah Noel scored a game-high 24 points on 11-for-18 shooting. She also pulled down a game-high eight rebounds in 39 minutes of action. The guard now has 22 career double-figure scoring games, including nine, 20-point performances. Noel is also four points away from 500 career points.
- The 11 field-goals made and 18 field-goals attempted by Mariyah Noel are a season high for a Musketeer player. Noel becomes the first player to make 11 or more field goals in a game since Jan. 4, 2017 (Raeshaun Gaffney made 12 field goals in a 72-64 win over Seton Hall).
- MacKenzie Givens added 20 points on 6-for-15 shooting to go along with six rebounds, two assists and two steals. She now has 15 career double-figure scoring games, including six games with 20 or more points.
- Savannah White finished with eight points, six rebounds, four assists, a game-high four steals and one block. The forward now ranks tied for 10th in single-season school history with 41 blocks.
- Meri Kanerva added eight points, three assists, two rebounds and one steal.
- Xavier finished with a .373 field-goal percentage (25-for-67). The 67 shot attempts are a season high. The Musketeers were also 5-for-20 from behind the arc and 10-for-13 from the foul line.
- Marquette won the battle on the glass, 40-33, and scored two more second-chance points (15-13). The Golden Eagles also scored five more bench points (8-3).
- Xavier scored 11 more points off of turnovers (20-9) and held a 40-38 advantage in points in the paint. The Musketeers also scored four more fastbreak points (16-12).
- Marquette posted a .467 field-goal percentage (28-for-60) and went 8-for-23 from three-point range. The Golden Eagles were also 13-for-20 from the foul line.
- Halle Vice led four Marquette players in double figures with 22 points. She added a game-high eight rebounds.
