Filip Borovicanin led all scorers with a career-high 22 points

NEW YORK - Filip Borovicanin led three Musketeers in double figures with a career-high 22 points as Xavier fell, 93-68, to No. 2 seed UConn in the BIG EAST Tournament Quarterfinals at Madison Square Garden.

The Musketeers moved to 15-18 (6-14 BIG EAST) while the Huskies improved to 28-4 (17-3 BIG EAST).

NOTABLES

The Huskies scored the opening basket and never trailed, leading by as many as 22 in the first half before going into the break up 20, 50-30. Filip Borovicanin led Xavier with 10 points in the first half.
Xavier opened the second half on a 7-0 run to get as close as 13, 50-37, in the first five minutes of the second half, the closest it had been since the 8:14 mark in the first half. UCon responded with a 6-1 run, going ahead by as many as 25 in the final 10 minutes of the game, winning 93-68.
Filip Borovicanin set a new career-best mark with a game-high 22 points, marking his sixth straight game with double figures.
Tre Carroll scored 12 points tonight and has now
Roddie Anderson III added 15 points for the Musketeers, scoring 10 points after the half on 4-of-4 shooting from the floor, including hitting a pair of threes. It's Anderson's 16th game scoring in double figures.
Tre Carroll finished with 12 points, now with a team-high 28 double-figure scoring games for the season. Carroll also grabbed five rebounds to lead the Musketeers.
The Musketeers shot 37.3 percent (19-51) while UConn connected on 57.4 percent (35-61) from the floor.
The Huskies had a 42-16 advantage on points in the paint.
UConn won the battle of the boards, 40-28. Xavier had a 13-12 advantage on the offensive glass, but the Huskies finished with a 22-13 advantage on second-chance points.
Each team had 10 turnovers, with Xavier outscoring the Huskies 12-9 on points off turnovers.
