UNCASVILLE, Conn. - Savannah White posted a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds on Friday evening as the No. 11 seed Musketeers dropped their BIG EAST Tournament First Round game vs No. 6 seed St. John's, 53-48, at Mohegan Sun Arena.

Xavier moved to 11-19, while the Red Storm improved to 22-10.

NOTABLES

Xavier took a six-point lead (41-35) into the final quarter of play. St. John's battled back to outscore the Musketeers, 18-7, in the final frame to pull off the come-from-behind win.
The Musketeers got within two points, 50-48, with 2:13 left in regulation, but were held scoreless for the remainder of the contest.
The game featured four lead changes and three ties. Xavier led for 23:28 in the contest, while the Red Storm led for 13:27.
Savannah White led three Musketeers in double figures with 11 points on 5-for-7 shooting. The forward pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds for her fourth career double-double. She now has 14 career double-figure scoring games and 10 career double-figure rebounding games. White added two steals vs the Red Storm.
MacKenzie Givens finished with 10 points and six rebounds. Mariyah Noel had 10 points, six rebounds and two assists.
Meri Kanerva finished with eight points, four assists and three rebounds.
Vivien Nejašmić had five rebounds, four assists, two steals, three points and one block. Audia Young had six points and three rebounds.
Xavier posted a .333 field-goal percentage (21-for-63) and went 5-for-26 from behind the arc. The Musketeers were also 1-for-2 from the foul line.
Xavier won the battle on the glass, 41-38, and scored three more second-chance points (11-8). The Musketeers also held a 28-24 advantage in points in the paint.
St. John's scored two more points off of turnovers (10-8) and held a 15-6 advantage in bench points. Both teams scored two fastbreak points.
