03.08.26 | Men's Basketball
Carroll is one of five Muskteers that have been selected First Team All-BIG EAST.
CINCINNATI --- Xavier University graduate student Tre Carroll has been named to the All-BIG EAST Conference First Team in a vote by the league coaches. Carroll is the fifth Musketeer to be named to the BIG EAST First Team since XU joined the league for the 2013-14 season.
The four Xavier players previously named to the All-BIG EAST First Team include Souley Boum (2023), current Dallas Maverick Naji Marshall (2020), Trevon Bluiett (2016, 2017 and 2018) and Semaj Christon (2014).
Carroll is second in the BIG EAST in scoring at 18.0 ppg., 0.1 ppg. behind the league leader. Carroll entered the March 3 game vs. Seton Hall with the BIG EAST scoring lead for all games and league games only but suffered an injury just four minutes into the game and that scoreless game dropped him from both of the top spots. Carroll, who leads the team in blocks (sixth in the BIG EAST at 1.2 bpg.) and field goal percentage (third in the BIG EAST at .508), ranks second on the team in rebounding (12th in the BIG EAST at 5.7 rpg.). He has recorded a team-high 26 double-figure scoring games and a team-high 14 games with 20 points or more.
The No. 10 seed Xavier University Musketeers will take on the No. 7 seed Marquette University Golden Eagles in the first round of the 2026 BIG EAST Conference Men's Basketball Tournament at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Madison Square Garden in New York. The winner of that game takes on No. 2 seed UConn in Thursday's quarterfinals.
