Nwoko started 29 games this past season.
CINCINNATI --- Xavier University head coach Richard Pitino announced the signing of Mike Nwoko to an athletics aid agreement. Nwoko, a 6-10 and 260-pound forward from Toronto, Ontario, played as a junior this past season at LSU.
"We are excited about the addition of Mike to our basketball program," said Pitino. "Mike was extremely productive and efficient last year. He's a terrific scorer in the low post and can provide rim protection on defense. We expect him to make an immediate impact."
Nwoko, who started 29 of LSU's 32 games, finished third on the team in scoring at 13.4 ppg. and second in rebounding at 5.9 rpg. (22nd in the SEC), while shooting 61.0 percent (155-254) from the field. Nwoko scored in double figures in 23 games, including each of the last five games while scoring 16.0 ppg. over that stretch. Nwoko posted double-doubles in his last two games: 16 points and 13 rebounds in the regular season finale vs. Texas A&M and 16 points and 12 rebounds vs. Kentucky in the SEC Tournament. He posted five 20-point games, including a career-high 29 points in a win over Alcorn State and 21 in an SEC win at South Carolina.
Nwoko came to LSU after stops at Mississippi State as a sophomore (2024-25) and Miami as a freshman (2023-24).
