Women’s Basketball Adds Diawna Carter-Hartley to 2026-27 Roster

The Cincinnati native joins the Musketeers from South Alabama
CINCINNATI - Xavier head women's basketball coach Billi Chambers announced the signing of Diawna Carter-Hartley to the 2026-27 roster on Sunday. The 6-foot-1 forward joins the Musketeers from South Alabama.
"Bringing DeDe home to compete in front of her family and for her city is so special to us," said Chambers. "She brings a level of maturity beyond her years, a versatility that impacts the game on both ends of the floor, and a physical presence that sets the tone every time she steps on the court."
Carter-Hartley played in 31 games with 23 starts at South Alabama in 2025-26, averaging 8.6 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. She led the team in steals (53), while ranking second in total rebounds (226) and blocks (17). The forward added 71 assists and 32 three pointers.
Prior to South Alabama, Carter-Hartley played two seasons at Stetson (2023-25). She averaged 5.6 points and 4.0 rebounds in 53 games (21 starts). Carter-Hartley added 41 assists, 19 steals and 17 blocks.
The Cincinnati native was a standout at Princeton HS, leading the team to a state championship in 2023. Carter-Hartley was a three-time All-GMC selection.
