Ari Wideman Named Women’s Basketball Assistant Coach

She brings eight years of coaching experience to Xavier
CINCINNATI - Xavier head women's basketball coach Billi Chambers announced Ari Wideman as an assistant coach on Friday. Wideman brings eight years of coaching experience to Xavier.

"Ari is a proven recruiter, exceptional teacher and outstanding relationship-builder who brings a relentless work ethic and passion for developing student-athletes. Her experience, energy and leadership will make an immediate impact as we continue building a championship culture."
Wideman joins the Musketeers after two seasons as the head coach at Cal State Bakersfield. She coached Chrishawn Coleman to All-Big West honors in 2025-26.
Prior to Cal State Bakersfield, Wideman was an assistant coach at Toledo for the 2023-24 season. She helped the Rockets win 28 games and capture a Mid-American Conference Title.
During the 2022-23 season, Wideman was the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Arkansas State. She helped lead the Red Wolves to the Sun Belt Tournament Quarterfinals and coached Izzy Higginbottom to 2023 Sun Belt Newcomer of the Year honors.
Wideman an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at San Jose State from 2018-22. She was also a graduate assistant coach at Prairie View A&M from 2014-16.
Wideman played collegiately at Nevada from 2010-14. The All-Mountain West performer finished her career ranked third in career assists (383) and ninth in career free-throw percentage (.774).
The Chino Hills, Calif., native holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Nevada and a master's degree in educational leadership from Prairie View A&M.
