Women’s Basketball Adds Marta Paulina Moscarella Contreras to 2026-27 Roster

She is a 6-foot-2 guard/forward from Santa Marta, Columbia
CINCINNATI - Xavier head women's basketball coach Billi Chambers announced the addition of Marta Paulina Moscarella Contreras to the 2026-27 roster on Friday. Moscarella most recently played for Limonta Sport Costa Masnaga in Italian Serie A2.
"Adding Marta Moscarella to our program is a game-changing addition," said Chambers. "Marta brings an elite combination of skill, toughness, versatility and basketball IQ that impacts every possession. She plays with an intense competitive fire and a love for the game that elevates everyone around her."
She developed most of her basketball career in Italy with Magnolia Basket Campobasso and played the 2025-26 season with Limonta Costa Masnaga in the Italian Serie A2. She led her team to a championship this season and was awarded the MVP after averaging 21.0 points, 14.8 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 2.0 assists in the playoffs.
Moscarella averaged 8.2 points and 6.8 rebounds for the Columbian National Team at the 2026 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup in France. The 6-foot-2 guard/forward also played in five games for Columbia at the 2025 FIBA Women's AmeriCup.
Moscarella played for the Columbia National Youth Team from 2022-24. She averaged 19.8 points and 10.2 rebounds per game during the 2024 season.
