The junior golfer earns the honors for the fourth time in her career
NEW YORK -Â Isabel Brozena was named BIG EAST Golfer of the Week on Thursday. The junior golfer earns the honors for the fourth time in her career.
The North Reading, Mass., native took home co-medalist honors at The Bruzzy presented by Ashley Herrera on Sept. 9, leading the Musketeers to a sixth-place finish in the team's season-opening tournament.
Brozena shared medalist honors with Kaleigh Babineaux (Nebraska), Victoria Schuldt (UTSA), Meg Tilma (Oklahoma) and Sofia Vargas (Illinois). All five golfers hit 10-under-par 206.
Brozena's score of 206 (-10) matched the school record for 54-hole scoring, tying Emma McMyler who posted the score in 2021 at the Bradley Coyote Creek Classic. The junior golfer now has 13 career top-10 finishes and three tournament titles.
Brozena hit six-under-par 66 in round two at The Bruzzy, ranking tied for third in school history (18-hole scoring).
The Musketeers hit 854 (-10), placing sixth in a field of 11 teams. Xavier's score of 854 (-10) established a new school team record for 54-hole scoring. The previous school record was 859 (-5) in 2022 at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate in Highlands Ranch, Colo.
