CINCINNATI – Xavier beat Saint Louis 3-1 in the 2026 home opener Friday, Sept. 11.

The Musketeers move to 4-3 overall this season with their first 2026 win in Cintas Center.

Charlotte Moriarty had a new career-high kills for the second time this season totaling 20 in the victory. She also had 15 digs to mark her sixth career double-double.

Xavier started the first set down 4-0 before Moriarty tabbed her first kill of the night. XU went on a 4-0 run, including two kills from Moriarty to narrow the 11-9 gap. Kasey Quenichet took the lead for the first time on an ace to make the score 17-16. A 6-0 Musketeer run ended the set 25-20.

Saint Louis claimed the second set 26-24 despite Xavier's 15 kills in the set. The Musketeers started the set 8-1, but the Billikens rallied for the comeback. The two teams went back-to-back on errors until 24 all, but Saint Louis earned the final two points.

The third set stayed within two points until Xavier pulled away at 19-17. Four kills, three Billiken errors and one ace secured the 25-19 third set victory. Ava Tilden tallied four kills in the third set.

The final frame began with five straight XU points before an attack error put Saint Louis on the board. Xavier led by as much as 14 points in the fourth set and ultimately won 25-12. XU tallied 15 kills in the frame with Moriarty leading with four. Gabby Semona had two kills in the match for her first collegiate kill and the game-winning point.
