BOARD CHAIRMAN OF THE ATLANTIC 10 EARNS THIRD TEAM ALL-CONFERENCE AND MOST IMPROVED AWARDS: Atlantic 10 Conference's 2012-13 Chris Daniels Most Improved Player Award winner...2012-13 Third Team All-Atlantic 10...led Xavier and the entire Atlantic 10 Conference in rebounding at 9.0 rpg., including his 10th double-double of the season with a career-high 19 rebounds to go with 19 points and a career-high six blocks against Saint Louis on March 6...had game highs of 18 points and 10 rebounds in the Memphis win on Feb. 26; he also recorded double-doubles against Charlotte, Rhode Island, Duquesne, Fairleigh Dickinson, Wofford, Cincinnati, Wake Forest, and Temple...led the Atlantic 10 Conference in rebounding for A-10 games only at 10.2 rpg...grabbed double-figure rebounds 13 times this season, including a 17-rebound effort at Rhode Island on Feb. 20 and 12 against La Salle on Jan. 19...grabbed 11 rebounds in the Dayton win on Jan. 30 and 11 rebounds to go with a career-high six assists on Jan. 12 vs. George Washington....for the record, 2003 National Player of the Year and two-two NBA All-Star David West (Indiana Pacers) is the only XU player who has won an A-10 rebounding title to date...West is also the last XU player to grab 19 or more rebounds, having grabbed 19 at Fordham his senior year (2002-03).
TAYLOR MADE FOR THE PAINT: 2012-13 Third Team All-Atlantic 10 selection was second on the team in scoring at 11.9 ppg. after scoring double figures in 17 of the last 22 games (21 games overall for the season), including a career-high 24 points on 9-of-11 shooting at Richmond on Feb. 2...scored 18 points on 9-of-10 shooting at Wake Forest on Jan. 2 and 20 points in the Wofford game on Dec. 22...led the team and is ranked seventh in the Atlantic 10 in field goal percentage at 54.3 percent.
OVER 1,000 POINTS FOR HIS COLLEGIATE CAREER: Scored 15 points against Butler and passed the 1,000-point mark for his collegiate career...finished with 1,345 career points, including 812 as a freshman and sophomore at Monmouth and 533 points at Xavier.
AS A JUNIOR AT XAVIER (2011-12): Started four games as a junior and played in all 36 games...fourth on the team in rebounding at 3.7 rpg. despite logging only 14.7 minutes per game...scored a season-high 13 points in the Southern Illinois win on Dec. 25...recorded his first double-double as a Musketeer against Georgia on Nov. 25 with 10 points and 12 rebounds...had another double-figure scoring game at Vanderbilt on Nov. 28 with 11 points to go with seven rebounds.
AS A FRESHMAN AND A SOPHOMORE AT MONMOUTH UNIVERSITY: Led Monmouth in scoring at 17.8 ppg. and in rebounding at 7.6 rpg. as a sophomore in the 2009-10 season, while shooting 54.2 percent from the field...posted a pair of 30-point games in the 2009-10 season versus Sacred Heart and Wagner...earned a spot on the 2008-09 Northeast Conference All-Rookie Team after averaging 12.4 ppg. and 5.8 rpg. as a freshman...basketball coach: Dave Calloway.
