Mark Gaertner is in his second year as Video Coordinator after completing two years as a graduate program manager and four years as an undergraduate student manager.Â
Gaertner’s responsibilities include assisting the coaching staff in limited on-court activities during practice, advance scouting, video and on-campus recruiting.Â
During his time as a graduate program manager, Gaertner was responsible for assisting in player development, handling practice statistics, helping in different operations areas and various practice and scout team duties as needed. Gaertner has been a part of two NCAA tournament teams at Xavier, including the 2023 Sweet 16 team.Â
Gaertner played four years of basketball at St. Edward High School, including serving as a team captain on the 2019 team that played in the Ohio Division I Final Four. Gaertner’s basketball experience also includes time as a summer AAU coach in 2019 & 2020, working with fourth through eighth graders.Â
Gaertner graduated in May of 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in finance with a minor in economics. Gaertner earned his master’s degree in sports administration at XU in 2025.
