Ricardo Johnson, who is in his second year on Chris Mack's staff, was a part of the winningest class in Ohio University basketball history. Playing for former Xavier assistant John Groce, Johnson reached postseason play in each of his four seasons in Athens. Johnson helped Ohio win the MAC Regular Season Championship and reach the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 in 2012.
Johnson, a 2014 graduate of Ohio University with a bachelor's degree in communications, comes to Xavier after serving as a volunteer assistant at Panola Junior College in Carthage, Texas. He helped the Ponies finish 24-9 and runner-up in Region 14.
Johnson won a state championship in 2009 at Holmes High School in Covington, Ky., while being named State MVP. Johnson is currently pursuing a master's degree in sport administration from Xavier University.
