2017-18: Joined the team at the semester break…Competed in three events at the BIG EAST Championships…Set a season-best time of 58.68 in the B-Final of the 100 breast, the 14^th fastest time in program history…Competed in the B-Final of the 200 breast at the conference meet, finishing in 2:08.64, the 17^th fastest time in program history…Also took part in the 200 IM at the BIG EAST Championships, setting a season-best time of 2:01.02.

HIGH SCHOOL: Four year member of the varsity team at Detroit Country Day... Was a finalist in the 100 breast at the Boys Division 3 Michigan State Championships in all four years in high school... Placed fourth in the state in the 100 breast as a senior... Three-time state championship finalist int eh 200 IM, finishing fourth as a senior... Also swam as part of the Birmingham Blue Dolphins... Was part of the winning 200 medley relay at the 2017 YMCA SC Nationals... Also finished in the top 24 at the 2017 YMCA SC Nationals in the 100 breast and 200 breast.

PERSONAL: Majoring in Finance... Son of John and Jennifer Kokubo... Has an older sister, Lara... Sister is a former swimmer for Tufts University.
