Jesse Fuca was hired as an assistant coach for Xavier track and field in September of 2015. He works directly with the sprinters and hurdlers in addition to helping with the day-to-day operations of the cross country programs.
In 2017, Fuca assisted in coaching eight athletes to All-BIG EAST honors during the indoor and outdoor seasons - highlighted by two athletes who earned BIG EAST "Men's High Point Performer of the Meet" (Zachary Polk, Russell Platt). A total of five athletes also earned gold medals during the track and field seasons.

Fuca joined the Musketeers after a one-year stint as a volunteer assistant coach at George Washington University. He was the primary coach for the sprinters, hurdlers and the relay squads in addition to assisting with the day-to-day operations of the program.

From 2012-14, Fuca was an assistant coach for track and field/cross country at The Catholic University of America where he assisted in coaching five athletes to all-conference honors and four athletes to regional qualifications. He also a member of the Landmark Conference “Women’s Coaching Staff of the Year” for cross country in 2012 after helping the squad win a conference title. Â

Fuca was a four-year letterwinner in track at Binghamton University from 2008-12. The two-time all-conference selection captured the conference title in the 100-meter hurdles in 2012 and finished his career as the school’s record holder in the 60-meter hurdles.

The Warwick, N.Y., native holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Binghamton and a master’s degree in secondary education from Catholic.

Fuca holds a USATF Level I and Level II Certificate and is certified in First Aid, AED and CPR training.Â
