Xavier head volleyball coach Christy Pfeffenberger announced the hiring of Zoe Conway as the program's graduate assistant coach in spring of 2024. She joins the Musketeers after four years as a student-athlete at Ball State University.
"We are fortunate to add Zoe to our coaching staff" said Pfeffenberger. "She has played for some of the top coaches in Indiana in her career and been blessed to be around great people. Her volleyball IQ is high and she has a great demeanor when teaching the game. Our players are blessed to have Zoe in the gym with them."
In her four years as a student-athlete in the Ball State volleyball program, Conway helped her team to a 80-40 overall record and a 54-21 record in Mid American Conference (MAC) action. During the 2021 season, Conway and the Ball State volleyball team boasted a 30-4 (17-1 MAC) record, won both the regular season and MAC tournament, and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament after defeating Michigan in the first round. The 30-4 record was the most successful in Ball State volleyball history in terms of winning percentage and number of losses. Conway saw action in 18 matches during her four-year career.
Outside of her time as a student-athlete, Conway worked closely with the Munciana Volleyball Club where she has worked with the 15 Opens the last two seasons and has worked multiple camps and clinics. Conway's association with the club began in 2010 when she started playing competitive volleyball. Â
During her time as a student-athlete at New Castle High School, Conway recorded 1,110 digs, 187 aces, and 147 assists in her four-year career. She led her team to three IHSAA State Championships and a 131-22 overall record.
Â
The New Castle, Indiana native holds a bachelor's degree in elementary education with a minor in coaching ('24) and will pursue a master's degree in sport management during her time at Xavier.
