Kara Matthews

Kara Matthews rejoined Doug Matthew's staff as volunteer assistant in 2022, after serving in the role for Musketeers previously, first joining the staff for the 2011-12 season.
Matthews, formerly Kara Courtney, was a member of the women's tennis team 2005 to 2009. As a player, Mathews ranks sixth all-time at XU in singles wins and fifth in all-time overall wins. During her career a Xavier, Matthews earned First Team All Atlantic 10 honors twice and also earned a Second Team All-Conference selection. Matthews earned numerous awards including two ITA Scholar Athlete awards and numerous Atlantic 10 Commissioners Honor Roll selections.
Matthews was married to her husband Doug, Xavier tennis coach, in 2012, and the pair have three daughters, Kinsley, Brynn and Myla.
