Reuland scores game-winner in 10th minute, Kohls adds insurance goal in second half
RICHMOND, Ky. - Xavier women's soccer picked up a third-straight victory on Thursday afternoon, topping Eastern Kentucky, 2-0, at the EKU Soccer Complex to move to 5-2 on the season.
Frances Reuland's second goal of the season gave Xavier the lead in the first 10 minutes of the match, with the BIG EAST Rookie of the Week getting the ball just inside the post off a save to get the Musketeers on the board.Xavier limited EKU to just two shots, and only one look on-goal, in the first half while the Musketeers had 14 opportunities, including seven on-frame, before halftime. Reuland led the Musketeers with five first-half shots, with four looks going on-goal.
Off assists from Breanna Dardano and Reuland, Peyton Kohls found the back of the net in the 59th minutes, her third goal of the season, to make it a 2-0 advantage for the Musketeers.
Xavier's defense limited the Colonels to just two second-half shots, not allowing a look on frame after halftime, to hold EKU to a season-low matching one shot on-goal for the match. The lone shot on-goal was collected by Sami Lipcon in-frame for Xavier's third clean sheet of the season.Â
Next up, Xavier travels to Southern Indiana on Sunday, Sept. 20, for the final match before BIG EAST play. The Musketeers and the Screaming Eagles are set for a 2:00 p.m. ET start on ESPN+.

- Nastassja Garrett, Elizabeth Powell and Brooklynn Miltenberger all played over 75 minutes for the Xavier defense to limit EKU to just four shots, with just one look on-frame, a season-low for the Colonels. Breanna Dardano also played 83 minutes in the Xavier midfield, helping Xavier to its third shutout of the season.
- Sami Lipcon played the full 90 minutes in-goal for the Musketeers, collecting EKU's lone shot on-goal for her second complete shutout of the season.
