Marty Wolf lettered in tennis (1976-79) and basketball (1975-78) at Xavier. He held the Xavier tennis record for most wins with 100 (100-36), which includes 50 career wins each in singles and doubles, until recently.

Wolf played number one singles as a freshman, compiling a 9-9 mark. As a sophomore, he was 10-8. His junior year the record was 15-2. As a senior, he improved again with a 16-1 mark for a career singles record of 50-20.

On the doubles court, Wolf compiled records of 11-5 (freshman), 10-6 (sophomore), 16-3 (junior) and 13-2 (senior). His career doubles record was 50-16.

Wolf's overall record of 29-3 as a senior was a true indication of how good a player he was for Xavier. Since he did not play basketball as a senior, he was able to concentrate his efforts fully on tennis.

Xavier tennis coach and XU Hall of Famer Jim Brockhoff strongly endorses Marty Wolf's election: "Marty Wolf is not only the best men's tennis player in my 30 plus year's of coaching at XU, but he was the most competitive player. He always came to play!

In the Fall of his senior year it was determined by the basketball coach that he would not be on the team. He then dedicated all his efforts toward tennis and this work produced an excellent senior season. He just missed an at-large berth in the NCAA. He is truly a Xavier University Hall of Famer."

Wolf played three years as a reserve forward on the basketball team. He averaged 5.8 ppg. in six games as a freshman, 4.2 ppg. in 25 games as a sophomore, and 4.4 ppg. in 25 games as a junior.
