Steve Dixon, who lettered four years in golf, can be found near the top of the Xavier record books in almost all individual categories. His nine medalist honors rank first in Xavier history, six ahead of second place David von Haefen. Dixon won the Atlantic 10 Championship twice, only the fourth player in A-10 history to repeat as champion. His medalist victories include the 1996 Ohio Collegiate Classic, the 1998 Xavier Provident Invitational, the 1999 Johnny Owens Invitational, and his two Atlantic 10 Championships.
He also won the 1997 Georgetown Hoya Invitational where he recorded a hole-in-one. Dixon was named Xavier Player of the Year all four years of his career, and graduated as the career leader in scoring average at 73.76 and was also tops on the 100 Round Club with 136 total rounds played. Dixon owns one of the lowest five rounds in school history, and ranks fourth (senior), sixth (junior), 17th (freshman) and 19th (sophomore) all-time for his season scoring averages over his four seasons.
During his career with the Musketeers, the Xavier men's team won an impressive nine team titles, including the Atlantic 10 title in 1998. Dixon also helped lead his team to titles at the 1995 and 1998 Xavier Invitational, along with the 1995, 1997 and 1999 Dayton Invitational.
