Waugh Earns Honorable Mention All-American Honors

This season Waugh led the nation with 3.6 threes per game and led the Atlantic 10 with 19.0 points per game. She was named to the A-10 All-Conference First Team, All-Tournament Team and All-Academic Team.
In addition to those A-10 honors, Waugh was named a finalist for the Rotary Club of Detroit Nancy Lieberman Award, and was listed as a Top Five Point Guard by ESPN.com.
Waugh’s 107 three point field goals this season were a Xavier record, and she narrowly missed another school record with her .885 free throw percentage. She scored in double figures in all but one game this year and played at least 40 minutes 17 times.
For her career, Waugh finished seventh in school history with 1,523 points and is fourth with 515 assists. She hit a three pointer in 103 of the 107 games she played.
Waugh was one of 12 honorable mention honorees. The website named three All-American teams in addition to the honorable mentions. The complete listing can be viewed here.
Xavier was 20-10 this season under first-year head coach Kevin McGuff. The Musketeers finished the A-10 season second in the West Division and advanced to the conference tournament semifinals for the sixth year in a row.
Three starters are returning for the Xavier team that was invited to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time in five years, including the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year Tara Boothe.
