HAMILTON, Ohio - The Xavier women's tennis team traveled to nearby rival Miami (Ohio) and fell, 7-0, to the Redhawks. The Musketeers move to 7-3 overall for the year while Miami wins its sixth straight to improve to 6-1 on the season.
"Miami is a NCAA Tournament caliber team that handled themselves well today," said head coach Eric Toth. "We need to get back to our early season groove and I am confident these ladies will do exactly that."
Sophomores Jill Ducro and Aylin Seyalioglu teamed up at No. 3 doubles to defeat Miami's Sydnee Bridger and Leda Pesatova, 8-3.
Up next for the Musketeers is a three-match home stand which kicks off with a contest against the Bradley Braves. The match is set for Saturday, Feb. 23, at the Mercy Healthplex in Fairfield. First serve is 1 p.m.
