Men's Tennis Takes 5-2 Decision Over Wright State

CINCINNATI - The Xavier men's tennis team wrapped up its seven-match homestand with another win Wednesdat afternoon by defeating Wright State, 5-2, at the Mercy Healthplex in Fairfield. The Musketeers are now 10-6 after winning their eighth consecutive contest while the Raiders fall to 0-10 for the year.
"The guys did a good job not letting down in this non-conference match after coming off two tough Atlantic 10 contests," said head coach Eric Toth. "We look forward to getting outside and heading to Wilmington, N.C. next week for our spring break trip."
XU captured the doubles point after winning all three doubles matches to open play against WSU. Sophomore Anthony Palmenter and freshman Brian Starr paired up for an 8-0 blanking of the Raiders' Pip Rehg and Brad Krick at No. 3 doubles.
In singles action, XU won four of six singles contests including a 6-0, 6-1 win by junior Mike Dieciuc at No. 6 over Brett Stewart.
Up next for the Musketeers in a trip to Wilmington, N.C. for the team's spring break trip. XU will face UNC-Wilmington on Thursday, March 20 with first serve set for 11 a.m.
