
Men's Tennis Easily Gets Past Dayton, 6-1

CINCINNATI - The Xavier men's tennis team downed Atlantic 10 rival "Today was another good team effort against a quality opponent," said head coach Eric Toth. "It was good to get the week started off with this win especially because we have two tough conference matches coming up this weekend against St. Bonaventure and Duquesne." Xavier was able to win the first point of the match by capturing the doubles point, winning two of the three tandem matches. Sophomore Chris Herrlinger and junior Doug Matthews teamed up for an 8-5 win over UD's Michael Rohanna and David Peyton at No. 1. At the No. 3 doubles spot, junior Ra'ees Ismail and sophomore Anthony Palementer worked together on an 8-5 win over Michael Koscielski and Antonio Rodriguez. Herrlinger won his third consecutive match by by defeating Up next for the Musketeers are two more conference matches at home. On Saturday, March 8, XU will host St. Bonaventure at Five Seasons Sports Club Cincinnati at 2 p.m. On Sunday, March 9, the Musketeers will host Duquesne at 10 a.m. at Western Tennis and Fitness Club.
