Baseball Falls at Wright State, 5-1

DAYTON, Ohio - The Xavier baseball team dropped a 5-1 decision at Wright State Tuesday evening in a midweek contest at Nischwitz Stadium. With the loss, XU falls to 14-18 overall while WSU improves to 16-15 for the year.
Junior Adam Pasono extended his hitting streak to 16 games with a single in the ninth inning, the first of three Musketeer hits in the frame that led to XU's lone run of the contest.
Wright State scored two runs in the third and three more in the sixth to take the 5-0 lead over Xavier. The Musketeers got one run back in the ninth but were unble to overcome the deficit.
Freshman Brian Muransky (1-4) took the loss for the Musketeers after striking out three batters while walking two in 5.1 innings of work. Senior Kyle Cowden threw 2.2 innings of relief, striking out three batters and walking one.
Alex Kaminsky (3-1) got the win for the Raiders after striking out two while walking none in 4.0 innings of action.
The Musketeers return to action Wednesday when they travel to Oxford, Ohio to take on the Miami Redhawks. First pitch is set for 6:00 p.m.
