CINCINNATI - The Xavier women's tennis team won all three doubles matches on its way to winning the six singles matches in straight sets as the Musketeers swept the Bradley Braves, 7-0, Wednesday afternoon on Xavier's outdoor courts. With the win, XU improves to 11-7 for the season.
"This was another good performance as the team took the doubles point and then won all six singles matches in straight sets," said head coach Eric Toth following the match. "We are creating momentum with these wins heading into the Atlantic 10 Tournament. Our next three matches are against area and rival schools which will be good tests for this team."
Juniors Kara Courtney and Jeanette Feider teamed up at No. 1 doubles to sqeeze out a 9-7 win over BU's Jessica Buterbaugh and Kelly Donohue.
The Musketeers took all six singles matches, including a 6-1, 6-1 win by sophomore Aylin Seyalioglu in the five-spot over Erin Krubeck.
XU returns to action next Wednesday, April 9, with a home contest against Northern Kentucky on the Xavier outdoor courts at 3 p.m.
