Charlotte Tops XU Women 4-1 In A-10 Consolation

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- The No. 5 seed XU women's tennis team finished its run at the Atlantic 10 tournament with 4-1 loss to No. 8 seed Charlotte in the consolation round. The duo of sophomore Katie Pleiman and freshman Andrea Wolf earned an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles.

Wolf earned Xavier's lone singles win when she defeated Andrea Rivera at No. 2 singles.

"A very disappointing end to our season today," said Xavier head coach Eric Toth. "Coming off of our effort against GW yesterday we just did not get enough out of everybody to be able to beat a good Charlotte team. We hoped to perform better this weekend, but with the depth of this conference, not playing your best tennis on even one day of the event makes it difficult to get the results you try to achieve. I do appreciate our girls' effort throughout the year especially with our senior class and look forward to getting started again next fall."

With the loss, the Musketeers fell to 9-15 on the season.
