Women’s Golf Heads to Kiawah Island for the Palmetto Intercollegiate

Kiawah Island, S.C. – The women's golf team heads to South Carolina tomorrow for the Palmetto Intercollegiate on Sunday for their final tournament of the fall. The three day event will feature 20 teams at the Turtle Point Course at the Kiawah Island Golf Resort, which will be playing 5,972 yards and par 72.
In addition to Xavier and the host team, College of Charlestown, the event features teams from Augusta University, Boise State, Boston University, Campbell, Charleston Southern, Chattanooga, Coastal Carolina, East Tennessee State, Furman, Illinois, Kansas, Kennesaw State, Louisville, Maryland, South Florida, Stetson, Tulsa, and Virginia Tech.
Xavier was last in action at the Rutgers Invitational on October 17th. Senior Shane Crutchfield finished tied for third individually. The St. Petersburg Florida native put together her best tournament of the year thus far, with a total three round score of 226 (+10). Xavier, as a team, finished fourth after finishing with a combined score of 938 (+74).
Last year, Shane Crutchfield finished tied for fourth individually, shooting even par for the tournament.
Round one begins on Sunday morning with a 9:00 a.m. start with split tee times on holes 1 and 10. Live scoring will be available through Golfstat.com.
